A footnote to a theorem of Kawamata

چکیده

Kawamata has shown that the quasi-Albanese map of a quasi-projective variety with log-irregularity equal to dimension and log-Kodaira 0 is birational. In this note, we show under these hypotheses proper in codimension 1 as conjectured by Iitaka.

A Bergman kernel proof of the Kawamata subadjunction theorem

The main purpose of the following article is to give a proof of Y. Kawa-mata's celebrated subadjunction theorem in the spirit of our previous work on Bergman kernels. We will use two main ingredients : an L 2 m –extension theorem of Ohsawa-Takegoshi type (which is also a new result) and a more complete version of our former results. §0 Introduction Let X be a projective manifold and let Θ be a ...

A Footnote to the Evolution of Digits

Half a billion years ago, the first fourlegged land animal crawled out of the sea onto dry land. How did the limbs that creature crawled on evolve from the fins of its fishy ancestors? This question has long intrigued biologists. Fossil records suggest that tetrapod legs evolved step by step from fins, and comparative gene expression studies have provided some insights into how mutation and nat...

A generalization of Martindale's theorem to $(alpha, beta)-$homomorphism

Martindale proved that under some conditions every multiplicative isomorphism between two rings is additive. In this paper, we extend this theorem to a larger class of mappings and conclude that every multiplicative $(alpha, beta)-$derivation is additive.
